Iki-Iki Hiking Around Lake Kameyama in Chiba

Lake Kameyama is a manmade lake in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture. Created when a dam was built, it offers gorgeous scenery in every season and is one of the prefecture’s best-known spots for autumn foliage.
Buses will transport hikers to the lake (fee charged). You have the choice of walking the full course around the lake or just half a circuit.

Dates and Time

・ November 25 (Wed.)
・ November 26 (Thu.)
Meet up at 7:30 a.m. in front of the main entrance to the Shinjuku City Office Main Building to board the buses. The hiking group is scheduled to return to a location near the Shinjuku Center Building at around 5 p.m. and then disperse.
Note: The hike will take place even in the event of rain. The course may be changed if the rain is heavy.

Eligibility

Shinjuku City residents aged sixty or older who are in good health.
Notes:
1. Please refrain from joining the hike if you are ill or have concerns about walking.
2. All activities will be conducted in Japanese. No interpretation will be provided, so please bring along someone who understands Japanese if you do not.

Courses

(1) Full circuit of Lake Kameyama (5.2 km)
(2) Half circuit of Lake Kameyama (2.7 km)

Capacity

Approximately 140 participants per day. There will be a lottery if applications exceed capacity.

Fee

2,000 yen (bus fare)

What to Bring

Your participation ticket, a packed lunch and something to drink, a picnic sheet, rain gear, and your health insurance eligibility certificate or My Number card
Note: Please wear comfortable clothing and sports shoes that you wear often.

Application

Please apply using the application form or by postcard. Applications must be received by October 15. Participation tickets will be mailed to successful applicants by early November.
If you are applying by postcard (up to two people per application), please write the event name, postal code and address, names (with furigana), dates of birth and gender, a daytime phone number for an emergency contact, preferred date (first and second choices), preferred course (1 or 2), and whether you want to be put on the waiting list. (As noted above, if applications exceed capacity, participants will be selected by lottery.) Please send your application to the address below.
Note: Please be sure that your address, name, date of birth, and other information are correct, since this data will be used to arrange insurance coverage.
