Hands-On Disaster Preparedness in Simple Japanese (Disaster-Preparedness Training for Foreign Residents)
The Tokyo Fire Department’s Ikebukuro Life Safety Learning Center offers hands-on disaster preparedness tours in simple Japanese for foreign residents of Japan. You can learn what to do in a disaster in a fun, hands-on way and gain useful skills through experiences such as a simulated earthquake and learning how to deal with smoke from a fire.
Since natural disasters can happen at any time, please take the time to learn about disaster preparedness now so that you’ll be ready in an emergency.

| Eligibility | This is for foreign residents of Japan who understand simple Japanese; you cannot participate if you require an interpreter. |
| Program | You will take part in four experiences: earthquake simulation, extinguishing a fire, dealing with smoke from a fire, and a film about disaster preparedness. Life Safety Learning Center staff will provide instructions in simple Japanese. |
