Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Immunizations

HPV is a virus that can cause cervical cancer in women, anal cancer in men, and genital warts. Receiving the HPV vaccine can help prevent various cancers and other diseases related to HPV.

How to Get Vaccinated

You can receive the vaccinations for free if you bring the preliminary checkup sheet that Shinjuku City issued to a designated medical institution.
If you do not have the checkup sheet, please contact the Disease Prevention Section, Public Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Division (Tel: 03-5273-3859). You can also apply via the Shinjuku City website.

Government-recommended periodic immunizations for women

Eligibility Women born between April 2, 2010 and April 1, 2015
Doses Two to three doses (depending on the person’s age when the vaccinations start, etc.)
Available vaccine Silgard (nonavalent) only

Note: Shinjuku City mailed the checkup sheet on March 25 to women born between April 2, 2014 and April 1, 2015.

Optional immunizations for men

Eligibility Men born between April 2, 2010 and April 1, 2015
Doses Two to three doses (depending on the person’s age when the vaccinations start, etc.)
Available vaccines Gardasil (quadrivalent), Silgard (nonavalent)
