The Economic Census for Business Activity will be conducted to gauge economic activity in Japan as of June 1, 2026. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
What Is the Economic Census for Business Activity?
It’s a statistical survey that examines the actual economic activity of all establishments and enterprises in Japan.
Who is surveyed?
All establishments and enterprises in Japan are included in the census, including those operated by foreign nationals. (However, establishments engaged in agriculture, forestry or fisheries, domestic service work, and establishments operated by foreign governments are excluded.)
How should I respond?
You can respond online or by mail.
Note: Responding is required by law.
How are the results of the census used?
They are used as basic data to support efforts to improve society and the economy, such as when considering various subsidies and compiling GDP statistics.
