“Safety Tips” Disaster Information App

What Is “Safety Tips”?

Safety Tips is an app developed by the Japan Tourism Agency, providing information when a disaster strikes for tourists who are visiting Japan. Safety Tips is available in 14 languages, and can provide push notification of emergency warnings such as heavy rain, earthquakes, tsunami, storms and volcanic eruptions in Japan. The app also has an evacuation flowchart that shows evacuation procedures suitable for the surrounding conditions; a communication card to obtain information from the people around you; and a list of links that provide the information you need in an emergency. For people who live in Shinjuku City, this app can be used as a source of multilingual information during a disaster.
