The Individual City Resident Tax’s Per Capita Amount Has Gone Up
To help the nation recover after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the per capita amount of both the Special City Resident Tax and Metropolitan Resident Tax has been raised by 500 yen. This is a way to secure funds to cover the expenses for governmental measures related to disaster prevention in Shinjuku City and metropolitan Tokyo. The rate hike will be effective from FY2014 through FY2023.
