Notifications, such as for Changes of Address and Tax Payments

You must submit various notification forms when you arrive in Japan or change your address, and you also need to complete some procedures for such events as childbirth and death. There may also be additional procedures, such as for enrolling your child in school, National Health Insurance, taxes, etc. The Shinjuku Foreign Resident Advisory Corner can tell you what procedures you need to complete.
Forms must also be completed for services involving the post office, driver’s license, passport, electricity, gas, water, and telephone facilities. For these items, please read the section on Living.
