Let’s Keep Our Town Clean Together—Please Join the Shinjuku City Simultaneous Street Cleaning Program
Shinjuku City designates May 30 of every year as “Garbage-Free Day” and asks groups organizing cleanup programs in the local communities and other organizations to help carry out street-cleaning programs. We would like as many people as possible to participate in these programs so we can spread the circle of friends involved in local cleanup programs and achieve our ideal “beautiful and clean Shinjuku.”
The Shinjuku City Office is conducting the following campaign. You can participate as an individual as well. The city has cleaning equipment you can borrow. Your assistance in making Shinjuku a cleaner town would be deeply appreciated.
Takadanobaba Station Area Littering Prevention and No-Smoking-on-the-Streets Campaign
Date and time: May 30 (Wed.), from 10 a.m.
Meeting place: The traffic circle in front of Takadanobaba Station, no later than 9:50 a.m.
Shinjuku Station Area Littering Prevention and No-Smoking-on-the-Streets Campaign
Date and time: May 30 (Mon.), from 2:30 p.m.
Meeting places: (1) Shinjuku Station east exit plaza, or (2) in front of Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower at the west exit of Shinjuku Station, no later than 2:20 p.m. (Cleanup will be conducted at two locations.)
If your group or organization—such as a town council, community group, corporation or school—would like to conduct its own cleanup program, have a representative complete a town council/work location activity participation form (available at the Waste Reduction and Recycling Division and local Branch Offices, or by downloading from the Shinjuku City website) giving the date, time and location of your program. Submit the form to the Waste Reduction and Recycling Division or your local Branch Office.
Note: Groups/organizations should prepare their own cleaning equipment.
