Eligibility You must be a registered resident of Shinjuku City as of the standard date (April 27, 2020).
Benefit amount ¥100,000 per eligible person
Those eligible to apply for the benefit Head of your household in the basic resident registration
Note: Please file a single application and receive the benefit for all household members together.
Note: DV victims can also receive this benefit, even if they are not the head of their household.

Application procedures Applying by Mail
Application forms were mailed to the heads of households on May 29.
Please complete the form, attach a copy of official documentation to confirm your ID and a copy of your financial account documentation, and return these documents in the enclosed return envelope.
Application Period: Until August 31 (Mon.)
Note:
1. If you file your application online, there is no need to send your application in by mail.
2. Although the information enclosed with the special cash payment application says to stamp the form with your personal hanko seal, that is not actually necessary. You can use your signature instead. (If you did use your seal, of course, there is no problem with receipt on our side.)

Applying Online
Note: Only heads of households with a My Number card incorporating the electronic signature of the applicant himself/herself may use this method.
Application Period: Until August 31 (Mon.)
Please apply using your personal computer or smartphone, logging in at the “Myna Portal.”

When Benefits Begin 【When applying by mail】 From June 26

When payment is made, Shinjuku City Office will send you a notification of benefit decision. Please wait for this notification.
Note: To ensure the confidentiality of personal information, Shinjuku City Office will not respond to questions such as “Has an application been completed?” “Was the information entered correctly?” or “What is the status of my application?”

If You Are Taking Shelter in Shinjuku Due to Domestic Violence


If you were unable to transfer your residence records on or before April 27, 2020, you can request and complete application procedures for and receive a special cash payment along with any dependents living with you, even if you are not the head of the household.
Eligibility requirements
If any of ① through ③ below applies:
① If a restraining order has been issued against your spouse, based on the Law for the Prevention of Spousal Violence.
② If a women’s consultation center has issued a certificate concerning protection of a victim of spousal violence.
③ If you transferred your residence record to a new municipality on or after April 27, 2020 and are eligible for support measures based on the basic resident registration operating procedure.
