Get Your Child Vaccinated for Measles, Rubella and Japanese Encephalitis
If you bring the screening questionnaire sent by Shinjuku City Office, you can vaccinate your child at designated medical facilities free of charge. If you do not have a screening questionnaire, please call the number below.

MR (Measles and Rubella)
Children aged 1 year old and 5 years old are eligible.
Eligibility
First dose: at the ages 12 through 23 months (*It is recommended to get vaccinated soon after your child becomes 1 year old.)
Second dose: children born between April 2, 2012 and April1, 2013. (During the fiscal year before entering primary school)
Eligible period
First dose: at the ages 12 through 23 months
Second dose: until March 31 (Sat.), 2019
Note: screening questionnaires for the children eligible for the first dose will be mailed toward the end of the month in which each child reaches 11 months of age. Screening questionnaires for the children eligible for the second dose have been already posted at the end of March 2018.
In case your child ages 2 years through 18 years who has not received routine MR vaccinations
The entire cost of voluntary MR vaccinations can be supported for children who have not completed the schedule of MR vaccines (up to 2 times) except for the children still eligible for routine MR vaccinations. If your want to vaccinate your child, please call the number mentioned above.
Japanese encephalitis
Children born between April 2, 1995 and April1, 2007 who have not received their Stage I (two initial doses and one booster) and Stage II (single dose) can now receive the missed dose(s) before they reach 20 years old free of charge. Please call the number mentioned above if your child has not completed his/her Japanese encephalitis vaccine schedule.
Note: screening questionnaires for Stage Ⅱ have been already mailed at the end of March 2018 to the children who were born between April 2, 1999 and April1, 2000.
