School Entrance Financial Awards for New First-Year Elementary and Junior High Students

The Shinjuku City Board of Education offers school entrance financial awards to alleviate the financial burden of families with children entering school and support the healthy growth of elementary and junior high school students. For more information, please check the Shinjuku City website.

Eligibility Children who meet either ① or ② below.
① Born between April 2, 2016 and April 1, 2017 (age of new elementary school first-graders), or Born between April 2, 2010 and April 1, 2011 (age of new first-year junior high school students)
② Must be registered residents of Shinjuku City as of January 1, 2023 (standard date).
Award Amount ▶ Households with a new elementary school first-grader: ¥50,000 per applicable child
▶ Households with a new first-year junior high school student: ¥100,000 per applicable child
Notification Mailing completed for eligible households on Tuesday, January 24.
