Children’s Clubs and Hiroba Plus Are Seeking Children to Use the Facilities from April 2018
Childcare is available at Children’s Clubs and After-School Children’s Plazas with Children’s Club function Hiroba Plus for children whose parents/guardians are not at home after school due to work, illness, etc. We are looking for children who would like to use these facilities from April 2018.

Children’s Club (regular use, Saturday regular use and school holiday use)
There are three plans: “regular use,” which allows use of the clubs for one year; “Saturday regular use,” and “school holiday use” for municipal elementary school holidays.
|Eligibility||Children from the first through sixth grades of elementary school who live in Shinjuku City and whose parents/guardians are not at home during the day due to work, illness, etc.|

|Application||Please fill out and bring the designated application form to your local Children’s Club (see chart 2) in person. (Closed on Sundays, national holidays and during the year-end/New Year’s holidays.)
1. Application forms are available at local Children’s Clubs, Comprehensive Children’s Center, Children’s Halls and Families with Children Support Centers. (Closed on Sundays, national holidays and during the year-end/New Year’s holidays.)
2. A simple interview will be conducted with the parent/guardian during application or at a later date.

Shinjuku City subsidizes part of the operating expenses and usage fees of private children’s clubs. For more information on specific hours of use and fees, please call the club you want to use.

After-School Children’s Plazas with Children’s Club function Hiroba Plus
Some elementary schools (chart 4) offer Hiroba Plus—After-School Children’s Plazas, in which school facilities (such as the schoolyard) are left open after school and during summer vacation so that elementary school students can play freely, with some Children’s Club functions.
Children who meet the same requirements set for Shinjuku City Children’s Clubs (see the abovementioned Children’s Club “Eligibility” section) can use Hiroba Plus facilities on weekdays. For more information, please call the Children’s Hall Management Section of the Comprehensive Children’s Center.
● Added Children’s Club functions
Hiroba Plus facilities can be used until 7 p.m., and are open from 8 a.m. during long school holidays, etc. Attendance records and hours of use will be kept, and Hiroba Plus provides snacks to children on request*. Individual interviews are also conducted as requested.
*There is a snack fee of 2,000 yen per month. After admission is approved, you can apply for an exemption from snack fees if you are in a household that: receives public financial assistance for everyday living: receives independence support for Japanese returnees from China; is non-taxable for FY2018 resident’s tax; or is a single-parent household with no record of marriage that is non-taxable for resident’s tax when the widow/widower deduction equivalent is applied for.

All Elementary School Children Can Use After-school Children’s Plazas
