Seventeenth Shinjuku City Half Marathon and Marathon for Resident Health

Date: Jan. 27 (Sun.), 2019

Held concurrently with the Japan ID (Intellectual Disability) Half Marathon Championships

We will accept advance applications from Shinjuku City residents starting from August 23 (Thu.), 2018 at 12:30 p.m.

Approximately ten thousand runners will gather from all over the country and run through Shinjuku City in this Tokyo Marathon 2020 tie-up event, finishing at Meiji Jingu Stadium. The top winners from this race will be recommended for the semi-elite category at Tokyo Marathon 2020.
Note: To support more comprehensive event management, we are seeking sponsorship funds from individuals.

Details on the events, categories and admission fees are shown in the table below.

2 km Elementary school students 1,000 yen
Family run 1 family: 1,500 yen
Fun run 1,000 yen
Special run (within the baseball diamond, 150 meters [tentative]; for elementary school students, those 70 years of age or older, and persons with disabilities) 500 yen
Birdie run (within the baseball diamond, 42.195 meters; for preschoolers and their parents) 1 family: 500 yen

The participant is responsible for paying all associated costs (for bank transfers, etc.).

Application:
Advance applications for Shinjuku City residents and those who live in areas affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake (Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures) and the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake (Kumamoto Prefecture) will be accepted between August 23 (Thu.) and September 7 (Fri.), 2018.
General admittance applications will be accepted between September 13 (Thu.) and October 12 (Fri.), 2018.
All interested parties should apply by phone at 0570-039-846 or via the Internet at http://spoen.net/. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis for the events in both application categories.
Notes:
1. General admittance applications can also be made at FamilyMart convenience stores using their FamiPort kiosk machines.
2. Event crew recruitment information will be distributed from August 20 at Shinjuku Cosmic Center (3-1-2 Okubo), Shinjuku Sports Center (3-5-1 Okubo), Branch Offices and other locations.
