The Forty-First Grand Shinjuku City Festival

A colorful autumn event called the Grand Shinjuku City Festival is on the calendar again for the first time in three years. The festivities will include a digital stamp rally that encompasses the autumn festivals of local shopping streets and town councils as well as the Shinjuku Machi Festival, which takes place in the Shinjuku Station area.

Shinjuku Machi Festival 2022 ~ Shinjuku Nazotoki (Riddle-Solving) Walk & XR Nazotoki ~

Enjoy strolling through the Shinjuku Station area while solving riddles playing two riddle-solving games during the festival! This riddle-solving program is making an encore appearance after earning great popularity last year.
Each game takes about two to three hours (excluding any breaks you take). You can also play a lottery program with the chance to win a unique Shinjuku prize according to your score.
Note: You will need to download a smartphone app called XR Channel for these games (iPhone and Android).

Digital Stamp Rally

A digital stamp rally that encompasses autumn festivals held by shopping streets and town councils in the city will give you a chance to win a cool lottery prize! Just collect at least two stamps at a community autumn festival site to enter. All participants who collect two stamps will win a participation prize.

Prizes
Two winners will be selected by lottery from among participants who collect at least two stamps. One will receive an Azalée brand tenugui (Japanese towel) and the other will get a Kanten Papa® gift set!

Participation Prizes
All participants who collect at least two stamps will receive two Criacao Shinjuku metal pin badges!

Grand Shinjuku City Festival – Community Autumn Festivals

Shinjuku’s community autumn festivals are introduced in pamphlets and on the Shinjuku City website and Shinjuku Convention & Visitors Bureau website. The pamphlets are available at the Culture and Tourism Division, local branch offices and Shinjuku City libraries. For more information on a particular event, please ask the event sponsor. Please note that festival dates and times are subject to change.
