TV Interpreter System Using Tablet Devices Debuts
Helping Foreign Residents with Procedures and Consultations
Shinjuku City has introduced an interpreter system that foreign residents can use when completing procedures and during consultations at the city office and other locations. Just choose one of the twelve available languages (according to the schedule below) and an interpreter will appear on the tablet device’s screen and interpret the conversation via TV-telephone.
Note: Since the number of tablets available is limited, you may not use the system.

Available Locations: Shinjuku City Office Main Bldg. and Shinjuku City Office Annex 1 (sharing two devices), Shinjuku City Office Annex 2, Shinjuku Multicultural Plaza and local Public Health Centers.
